I had my first red carpet interview tonight!!! Okay, the carpet was actualy kind of an orange/red, but still it was pretty cool. The interview was for a TV show called "Cool in Your Code" NYC TV on Channel 25. The premise is super cool...they go to different zip codes in the city and cover various restaraunts, clubs, theatres etc in different area codes. I've done tons of interviews, but it was my first time doing the whole stop-and-pose-in-front- of-the-logos-and-smile type of thing. We got to talk about the new album, which was cool, because the whole premise of the album is about growing up and experiencing different elements of the city...the album is literaly a love letter to growing up in New York City.
Of course, I celebrated with a glass of wine, compliments of Fred Munao, President of Select Records..an earthy Pinot Noir to be exact. I didn't get the chance to see the bottle (which I have been doing lately since working with Perfect Palate), because they were so busy at the bar...Oh well, next time!
These are exciting times for me. First of all I feel so lucky to work To celebrate, I went to SAVORNY, an innovative wine/small plate bar For dessert, we ordered a Jalapeno Pepper infused with cream cheese, If you are ever on The Lower East Side, be sure to check this place Phone: 212.358.7125
in the 2 fields that I love so dearly...music and wine! Our first
single "Sugar and Spring" was picked up by MTV Latino...I get chills
to think that edibleRed is on MTV in 16 different countries! We just
got word from Select Records that we will be shooting the video for
our second single soon...there is also talk about edibleRed playing a
Perfect Palate event, so stay tuned!
that is criminaly under the radar. I toasted the MTV Latino News with
a glass of Fairvalley Pinotage from South Africa (2005). I am a huge
fan of Pinotage. This was very lean and crisp with undertones of
cinnamon and apple...I paired it with a jicama/tuna ceviche...life was
very good at that moment.
chocloate, chili and almonds...this is not for everybody, which is
fine because that means there is more for me! Our gracious host/waiter
who is also the owner of the restaraunt suprised us with a glass of
Moscatel from Portugal...a sweet dessert wine with hints of caramel. I
don't usualy do dessert wines too often, but this was the perfect
combonation for me.
out! Thier wine selection and menu is off the hook...

Greetings from Cocoabar from LES (yes, another fine establishment on Clinton Street...I love visiting this area when I can..) I'm here with my assistant at Munchyland Music (my production company) and today we are attempting to tackle hours worth of backlogged paper work for edibleRed...mailing list updates, filing contracts... I have tons of details to work out before we go to Europe to tour in Novemeber...the behind the scenes "grunt work", never goes away! It seems like the more edibleRed gets "out there", the more of this stuff there is to do!
But part of what makes CocoaBar such a fab place to tackle this work is...well the wine list! Yep, I'm drinking on the job...I mean doing "research". I'm partaking in an unusual, but oh-so-yummy combo of Callers Uno, Perlat 2004 (a combo of Grenache, Syrah and Carignan) and drum roll please...Moo Shu Pork (CocoaBar lets you bring in outside food)! This combo rules. The Perlat is slightly spicy with a hint of blueberry, cherry and nutmeg...The berry aftertaste is amplified each time I bite into the pork...HMMMM! The Perlat is from Monstant, Spain...a recommendation from my cousin who used to live near there. Cocoa Bar also has an unbelievable selection of choclolates...one of which I will have to order when I finish my Moo Shoo Pork...I'm leaning towards the grapefruit ganache dipped in milk chocolate... Okay, back to work!
Congrats on your single! I'll makesure to look out for SAVORNY, I've heard great things!
